About Your Course
This course opens up career opportunities in human resource management, people management or people development. This CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development) accredited course is also an MA - giving you two qualifications in one.

You do not need previous HR knowledge - every year some students use this qualification as a way of changing their career path. This course attracts students from all over the world and provides a vibrant mixture of cultures and learning styles.

With a high number of contact hours over three semesters, we have a great established history and high reputation for CIPD accredited courses. We have strong professional links - our Head of School of Human Resource Management & Organisational Behaviour is a member of the CIPD's West Yorkshire Branch, Leeds Geographical Committee.

The MA HRM has a dedicated team of 14 module lecturers, the Course Administrator, the Course Leader and numerous dissertations supervisors. There are generally four applications for each place available on this course.

There are strong professional links - the Chief Examiner for CIPD is one of our Professors and the West Yorkshire education representative of the CIPD is our Scheme Leader. Students come from all over the world for this course and demand for this course is growing every year. We offer personal tutoring and coaching, ensuring that you will be well supported.

Assessment
Asessment is through a combination of coursework, exams and a dissertation.
Teaching & Learning
The teaching learning and assessment strategy is based on a threefold pattern of learning, that is, a taught programme of lectures, seminars, discussion groups and collaborative learning, in addition to directed and independent study. These three elements of study are combined to give a total number of 100 learning hours (10M level points) per module or multiple thereof.

This MA provides excellent opportunities for your on-going career. The CIPD qualification is required for nearly all UK based HR jobs. You can join the CIPD as a student member (approximately £170), which provides access to a number of the professional body's resources and support. This course meets the requirements at advanced level for CIPD membership which can lead to professional membership at associate, chartered member or fellow levels.
